To give a wide and maximum exposure in the distribution of food grains and necessary commodities in all sections with the point of poverty abolition, this leads the department and another country in implementing the poverty alleviation program through various schemes.
To provide the food grain to the poor people with various schemes of PDS as per the central government policy

To check the proper distribution of PDS food grains
Beneficiary identification through the District Administrative authority as per the number of assigns by the Govt of India

They will provide daily usage commodities like rice, sugar, wheat, etc with different schemes as follows
APL – Above poverty line
AAY – Antyodaya Anna Yojana for poor
Annapurna – for the citizen of age 65 years and above
BPL – Below Poverty line.

Process of Applying Ration card – Nagaland

- Fill up the form with all the details
- Sign the form at the end
- Attach all the documents with the application form
- Submit the form in the ration card office.
- The applicant will get an acknowledgment card with registration number and issuing date.
